This early spring wildflower loves deep rich soils and does great in shady locations. The 6-12” plant has a very wavy almost hand-like leaf. The single flower has white petals with a yellow center, and is short lived but worth the effort. To aide the spreading of this plant, divide plants in Fall taking time to notice the reddish-orange root color; which is where the plant gets its name.
