This early spring wildflower likes deep shade and rich soil, and does well when planted with other spring wildflowers such as Bloodroot and Wild Ginger. After the white flower matures in May, an apple-like fruit forms under the large fan shaped leaves. This plants spreads through the roots creating a magical colony of plants.
